Please wish Concert Choir good luck in their trip to Chicago next weekend! We depart early Friday morning, visit the Museum of Science and Industry, and in the evening see “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
Concert Choir will spend all of Saturday rehearsing with two other area youth choirs in preparation for a 7:00 concert at First United Church of Oak Park, IL. Part of the day will be spent in composition workshops creating (and learning very quickly!) a work that they’ll perform that evening. What an amazing experience that will be!
On Sunday, we’ll visit the Shedd Aquarium, visit Skydeck on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower for an unforgettable view of Chicago, and get in a little bowling before heading home to Ann Arbor late in the afternoon.
Putting all this together has been a major effort and accomplishment for Bonnie Kidd, Jamie Phillips, Steve Roberts of Corporate Travel, and Concert Choir members, who’ve been working hard to prepare. This is AAYC’s first tour in 11 years, and we hope there’ll be more. Touring is important for our choir members’ musical and personal development, as they learn and work together towards a sizable goal. And have a fantastic time!
