About BKidd

Bonnie Kidd began her career as the Ann Arbor Youth Choral Concert Choir Director in 2006. Since 1993, she has been the Director of Choirs at Ann Arbor Tappan Middle School, and Co-Director of Choirs at Ann Arbor Huron High School. Ms. Kidd’s middle and high school choirs have consistently received outstanding ratings at both District and State level events. Choirs prepared by Ms. Kidd have sung under the batons of Leonard Slatkin of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Arie Lipsky of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, Martin Katz of the University of Michigan, and with Ann Cooper Gay of the Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus. In April 2006, her Huron High School Bel Canto Choir won the Gold Prize at an international choral competition in Verona, Italy. In January 2010, Bel Canto Choir was selected to perform during the distinguished choral hour at the Michigan School Vocal Music Association Michigan Music Conference. In March 2010, Bel Canto choir traveled to Salzburg, Austria to participate in the international choral festival, Cantus Salisburgensis. In January 2011, Ms. Kidd conducted the MS/JH SSA Michigan School Vocal Music Association State Honors Choir in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ms. Kidd trained in opera performance and has attended the Juilliard School, Boston University School for the Arts, and holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, in Cleveland, Ohio, and a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Bonnie has been married to Robert for the past 28 years. Their son Samuel is 16 years old, and a five-year veteran of the Ann Arbor Youth Chorale.
