Ann Arbor Youth Chorale – both Descant and Concert Choirs – is thrilled to perform with the Ann Arbor Symphony at their Holiday Pops Concert on Friday, December 11 at 8:00 p.m. in the magnificent Hill Auditorium. Tickets and information are available at http://www.a2so.com/events/holiday-pops/.
Come cheer on AAYC choristers as they sing! It’s the perfect way to welcome in this holiday season. Bring your family and friends for a festive evening of orchestra and voice, classical and pops at this annual A2SO tradition.
The Descant and Concerts Choirs will present their beautiful Winter Concert on Sunday, December 6 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ at 423 S. Fourth Ave. in Ann Arbor. The concert begins at 4:00 pm and is followed by a reception downstairs. Tickets will be sold at the door. AAYC spirit wear, totes and CDs are available for purchase – they all make great holiday gifts for your favorite singer(s) and their family!
AAYC’s Winter Concert promises a lifetime of memories for singers, families and friends. You won’t want to miss it!

In response to the great times we’ve had at this event in the past, we’re hosting Game Night again for Youth Chorale members. It’s an evening of fun for kids (with the help of volunteers), as they play cards or board games, snack and socialize. The event will be from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday, October 23rd on the second floor of the NEW Center Building, 1100 N. Main in Ann Arbor. Parking and pick-up are easy, so it’s a convenient spot for this drop-off event.
Game Night is free, but we ask that you list your child on the sign-up sheet sent emailed by Lori Harris on October 11th newsletter. We also ask that each child bring a salty or sweet snack to share. AAYC will provide drinks, plates, napkins, etc.
This is a great chance to hang out with Youth Chorale kids and get to know them better. We hope to see lots of AAYC members at Game Night!

Welcome to Ann Arbor Youth Chorale’s 2015-16 season! We officially begin on Saturday, September 26th with Workshop Day. It’s a busy and exciting day of uniform fittings, new singer auditions (already scheduled), workshops for all singers, and an orientation meeting for parents and members. Parents will have a chance to sign up for important volunteering opportunities, if they have not already done so. And student members will receive their own t-shirt with the new AAYC logo.
We’re most excited to unveil our brand new AAYC tote bag! You’ll love them! They’re available for purchase for just $10.00 and are perfect for carrying your chorus music folder, pencil and water bottle to rehearsal each week.
Here’s a quick look at the Workshop Day schedule:
- 8:50 am–12:10 pm: Uniform fittings by appointment (see 9/13/15 email from administrator Lori Harris)
- Lunch on your own
- 1:20 pm–3:30 pm: Mandatory singing workshops for both Descant and Concert Choirs
- 3:30 pm-4:00 pm: Mandatory orientation meeting for choir member and at least one parent
You’ll find lots more valuable information in that email from Lori Harris, dated 9/13. Be sure to read it carefully.
See you ALL at Workshop Day on September 26th!
