AAYC parents – enjoy coffee and snacks with us at BUCC during rehearsal Tuesday evening, 6-7 pm. Just a place to hang out, relax and socialize for a while!
There are still a few spots open for Ann Arbor Youth Chorale’s 31st season! Auditions will be held Saturday morning, September 16, at Tappan Middle School, 2251 E Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor. The choirs are for boys and girls, ages 9-16, who enjoy exceptional choral singing. Need-based scholarships are available.
To sign up for a 15-minute appointment, and for more information, simply go to the “Auditions” drop down menu on this website.
Our 31st season promises to be especially exciting, with Concert Choir’s Chicago Tour, performing with the Ann Arbor Symphony at Hill Auditorium, singing the National Anthem at several U of M sporting events, and more. And, of course, our always unforgettable Winter and Spring Concerts!
Here’s what our enthusiastic members have written:
“AAYC is fun! Every kid who likes singing should sign up for it!”
“It feels like a whole big family that loves to sing!”
Ann Arbor Youth Chorale’s season starts soon! We’ll see you at Tappan Middle School on Saturday morning, September 16, for our kickoff event – a great time to meet your directors, see old friends and make new ones. This goes for your parents too!
Our directors, Mrs. Powell and Mrs. Kidd, report that auditions in May and June were hugely successful, and they’re looking forward to a great season of singing in 2017-18!
In case you know someone who missed spring auditions, they can still sing for us on Saturday, September 16 in the morning. Audition sign-ups are at the drop-down menu on this website.
See you in the fall and . . .
An AAYC parent recently wrote, “As for AAYC, fantastic is an understatement! Our family loved our first season of uplifting music. The dedication of such a professional, talented group of adults, eager to see our young singers grow and thrive, is heartwarming.”
Your young singers will love AAYC too! They have the chance to audition this Saturday, June 10 at the NEW Center. See below for more information, sign up on this website, and we’ll see you Saturday!
Congratulations to all the members of our Descant and Concert Choirs! Their performance on May 6 was one of the most memorable ever, with gorgeous singing and very moving performances (members of the audience won’t soon forget “But a Flint Holds Fire” by Andrea Ramsey). Here are just a few pics from our 30th Annual Spring Concert. Congratulations and gratitude also go to Mrs. Powell and Mrs. Kidd, our fantastic directors, on another beautiful concert and a successful season!
